It’s an investment. There’s no more bunny ears coming into the market, so the person buying them is betting the prices will go up.
The unusual market on the other hand is bound to crash as these simply keep getting generated.
Nearly got sucked into this whole trading business after getting two high value unusuals from 20 crates (lucky, yes). Just going to wear the two I have instead of trading for hours.
But for an unsuaul to drop you’d still need a minimun investment of keys (around 70 euro’s on average?). And with new hats coming out at such a fast rate I don’t think they will become any less rare or valuable.
or you could just imagine your wearing a cool hat while your playing and just save all those $$$

people buy these unusuals to trade on its easy money i could have made £30 in 2 days but im a fucking idiot.
basically i brought a bad scout unusual for $55
traded that on for soldier unusual
then traded that for a heigher teir heavy hat
got offered $80 but becuase im an idiot i got scammed
but alll in all its pretty easy money.
i don’t understand why people buy non vintage hats or weapons yet
