Can i ask why anyone would justify paying over $200 for a unusual hat in Tf2 ?

seriously ….
More than likely his life revolves around games and gaming in general. Which means he has no social life / school / and a dead end job so, he spends his cash on pixel hats.
That or he has more money than sense.
You bitch cos he’s rich.
How do these trades happen? There must be a massive risk of scamming.
Some people are idiots and like shiny things, others purely trade back and forth for money because there is ALOT of money to be made. Pretty simple.
edit: spin, they use a middleman

I would like to be the middleman, give all your unusuals to me before you trade.

Forums are filled with “reputation threads”. Every trader doing lots of trades makes sure that everyone he trades with leaves a message in his rep thread.
If you try to scam someone you end up in the black lists of scammers and everyone will know about you. http://www.sourceop.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=6447
In the end the majority of people on these forums go there because they genuinely want to trade something.

I heard there are people trading sex for unusual hats, so depending on who you’re dealing with $200 could be actually cheap. My guess is that it’s Wayne Rooney buying all these unususals.
Shintaz sold Bunny Ears for $90 – Its strange that these people pay more for E-Fashion than real clothes.
