Let’s not argue over semantics – all I was saying is that he might not necessarily have sent the messages, so there’s no need to call him out on it.
My account wasn’t hacked. It’s not hard for somebody to take my name and avatar and then start sending out messages trying to trick people. I’ve added some education to my real steamcommunity profile.

I’ve been contacted by namefakers before. I just didn’t expect to do the SteamID calc and find it was yours.

chris may be a lot of things but he’s not dumb, probably would not get a steamID wrong

Correct, it was merely your password being stolen.

Incorrect.
I’m not here to give you an explanation. All I know is I calculated the SteamID from the community ID and put it in the search to see if was legit. I was messaged by that other guy some time beforehand, but this time it was indeed yours.
edit: I’m sure one of the other people in this thread checked the ID and can verify that it was your account.

Well apparently you forgot the underscore when doing so and ended up caclulating my SteamID instead of the guy sending you a message. I think it’s a big enough giveaway that you received the same message from “me” and also the imposter using my name. Obviously what happened was that you received the message from the imposter both times and just made a mistake one of the times.

I said community ID, not friend ID.
