im using a logitech MX518 mouse and whenever i play tf2 it randomly stops working leaving me defenceless, many atime it has lost us the game =[ does anyone here know how to fix this problem short of buying another. i’ve update the driver uninstalled and reinstalled and it still keeps doing it, but only when im ingame…
Hardware? OS? dxlevel?
Try to test it with another mouse, to clear if your mouse is broken, or play some other games and see if the problem continues. If you haven’t the same problems in the other games its to 100% tf2, if not than it’s your PC or your mouse.
Does the mouse just freeze or does it “shutdown” (as in the laser light disappears)? If the mouse shuts down then I’d say that the cord is broken.
windows vista, am running dx 9. edit: just saw the light go out, so should i buy a new mouse?

but it’s only happening in tf2!?
if the mouse is broken you would have the same problem on the desktop etc.
to make 100% sure that your mouse is ok, test it on another pc.
have you ever updated your mainboard driver (chipset etc.)?
is the mouse via USB or PS2 connected?

its via usb, i’ve noticed it very breifly being unresponsive but never as long as in tf2
plus idk how to update my mainboard driver as i dont have the installation disk or w/e
1.) flip your mouse upside down and pull slightly on the cord, and watch if the led/laser starts to flicker.
2.) is your pc from dell, alienware…
3.)get everest or another program that can analyze your system http://everest-ultimate-edition.softonic.de/

wow what a helpful reply, bet you’ve achieved the “i post my shit in every thread” achievment about 100000 times?
i’ve already added him via steam an we found the problem. btw. when you try 1000 things and they don’t work, maybe #1001 helps even if the chance is quite small.
