so what

It doesn’t really make any sense to do this at the minute. Intel has AMD massively on the back foot from a marketing perspective. I presume the idea is that they want to try and have the AMD brand ride on the current strength of the ATI brand, but since CPU’s are far more prevelant from a marketing perspective than GPU’s, I’d imagine it’d do the graphics side of the buisness more damage than it would do the processor side of the buisness good.

Anyways, the article is purely speculation, and if you look at unbiased benchmarks when deciding what to buy, instead of marketing bum fluff, then this will have absolutely zero effect on you what so ever.
