The amounts of money being spent on a player just for being English (and he’s injured), and more money for another player who’s playing wank at the moment?
Football is dead.

Football died years ago, well, English football died years ago.
It costs £125 a year for a season ticket in Germany (I think), in Spain most of their national squad come from Barcelona/Real Madrid, most of the other teams have 80% of Spanish players.
As there’s such an influx of cheaper talent, foreign owners coming to throw their money about, general greed from the chairmen, lack of administration in regards to money spent, money earned, wages etc. It’s all fucked up.
Arsenal are one of the only big clubs with a good business model, but a team with 3 English players in their squad, but at least a good youth academy set up, afaik, Everton, Villa, Middlesborough and fuck knows who else actually have young players coming through.
Even champsionship teams are getting taken over by foreign investors for teh lolz.
Man City, a team that was meh, started becoming supah pr0 from just buying loads of players and vomiting money all over them.
I think Tottenham, Everton and Villa are just a few teams that have a few English players but are hampered by the splashing of da cash from the rich clubs.
although Tottenham apparently tried to get aguero for £35m XDXDXDXD
I’m going to watch the Championship instead, I’m now a Barnsley supporter.

the new rules in 2012 (can only spend what you earn in revenue) are going to help a bit, and make arsenal even better :D. gonna be honest thats probably on of the biggest reason I love being a supporter, we play/manage football “the right way”
No, arsenal don’t play it the right way, Barcelona do.
And the rules won’t really effect much, wage caps are what’s needed.
new rules are worthless. these might also be the reason for the clubs to spend this window more as they would need. anyway it won’t stop them later on from paying higher wages. A cap there is forbidden because it’s against rights in the EU iirc.
Now about transfers: I’m personally not really happy with the Torres transfer. Probably because I hate Spaniards (:D) and this guy hasn’t been in form all season beside the game against Chelsea (which where hardly in form themselves).. and seriously how will this guy help us with the problems we have in the defence and midfield. And for the fuck not for this money! If I would be Liverpool manager I would carry this guy on my shoulder for this amount of money. The signings they made for this income are excellent.

there is no ‘right’ way to play football. I hate how Barcelona and Arsenal have this superiority complex because they play football on the deck, yeah it’s nice to watch but who said football was meant to play that way?
Give me a blood and thunder game of football anyday.

The guy has class dripping from every pore. The reason he ‘hasn’t been in form’ is because he was pissed that he joined a team that suddenly became bog awful, he blatently wasn’t really trying, couldn’t be bothered and will now become utterly awesome again, no doubt against us on Sunday….YAY!
He came to Liverpool for champions league football, so with it looking like another season without, I dont blame him for wanting out. At least we made a tidy profit and who knows, Suarez and Carrol may just become the hottest strike force since…ermm Sutton and Shearer or Toshack and Keegan. Hopeful? Maybe…well ok, yeah, very, but you gotta look on the brightside huh?
I’m kinda hoping there was a clause in the contract that he cant play Sunday, if he gets a hatrick he may be assasinated….just sayin’.

Suarez is great so long as he is happy, when he gets grumpy he can frustrate a team by himself. Also has quite a bit of temper :P

It’s not all fun and jollies in the championship, especially when you’ve just come out of administration, might have to sell your entire squad at the end of the season and your best player can’t play anymore because of a clause in his contract which the club can’t afford to pay for.
Also, Man City epitomise their owners so brilliantly – flashy assets, some of the best in the world, cost a ton of money but are as dull as fuck to watch play.

If I remember correctly, he was banned for 2 games by Ajax, and then for another 5 by the KNVB (Dutch FA).
