iPhone4 error

I got my new iphone today a sim free one and every time i turn it on it says ‘No SIM card installed’ i cant even get to the main menu! Atm i have a virgin media sim card which i have cleanly cut to fit the micro SIM size. i have tried quite a few options but non seem to really work. i was wondering if any one else had/have this problem. im going to the apple store tommorow to see if its the phone or the sim.

Dont think anyone can help you there, google is your best friend all tough i do believe you need to turn it in.
And yeh, I think I’ll skip this “generation” and stick to my 3g for awhile longer :)
yeah possibly, however i still should be able to get to the menu. i will ask them tommorw in the apple store
have you tried holding it differently?? in all seriousness though go to the apple store =p
You usually have to wait for your SIM card to be activated, which takes up to 72 hours. If it surpasses this then go to the store.
edit: but yeah you should be able to get to the menu :F. Dunno with i4’s though im on i3.
