Mumble/TS3 bug - help!

Hey guys.
I have this bug where sometimes when I’m on mumble or teamspeak 3 (and it occurs more frequently when in a game – like tf2!) my microphone will just cut out and I’ll get freezes that occur for a few seconds at random intervals. It makes the game unplayable and also means I can not even comm what’s going on. It’s getting to be a bit frustrating considering I’ve had it so long now.
I use onboard sound; using SoundMax HD audio drivers version: 5.10.0001.6520 on an ASUS P6T-Deluxe V2.
P.s. I am not doing this for me, I am just such a nice guy I don’t want to disturb any games with pauses I may have for the opponents sake.
As a temp fix you could try getting a PC that doesn’t take 20 minutes between leaving a game and getting back into the game after restart.
Oh and I also get similar lag spikes, not sure wether it’s because of mumble or not because I never play tf2 without mumble on.

Nice suggestion, shame it doesn’t apply.
Make sure you have all the latest drivers. Not really sure what could cause this, but you could try a USB headset, as that won’t use your onboard soundcard (assuming that’s where the problem lies).

I have the P5Q3 deluxe ALSO with on-board SoundMAX HD audio.
I don’t have that problem, HOWEVER, it also causes me problems in mumble:
My mic will randomly just emit noise (and I mean, PURE noise) and my microphone boost gets turned on with mic sound at 100%…fixed after a few plug-ins and outs of the mic and resetting the settings.
My guess is this on board sound crap is the culprit… on-board audio was never reliable… fuck on-board.
I’m thinking its this SoundMAX card. I have an Asus P5E (model down from yours) and get tons of problems with it. I’m going to order a new soundcard at some point and disable the onboard, see if it helps. I’ll let you know.

Let me know too then, because I’m in the same situation (Both thinking of getting a soundcard and getting problems)
