only problem there is that xvid sucks dick for compression to quality ratio
not when used properly.

there is no “when used properly”. if you genuinely think you will get the same quality to compression from xvid as something like h264 then that is just plain ignorant.

I think you don’t understand.
h264 has a good compression to quality ratio, xvid does not.

Use this: http://www.cybergamer.com.au/forums/thread/25594/Easy-h.264-by-ajaX/
Export as uncompressed with whatever editing software you use, then compress to h.264 (Brassemmemse 720p HD) with this.

I don’t think it will help in the youtube problem, because people using ffmpeg seem to have problems with videos that are encoded with ffmpeg and easy h264 uses ffmpeg, if you are not uploading to youtube then the program is great. Try mencoder + mp4box (thats what the pldx tool uses and in my opinion mencoder works a lot better than ffmpeg) if you want a working yt vid.

Other than youtube causing an overall sound desynchronization by moving the sound up by 0.5 seconds or so I haven’t noticed anything with this method. Though if it causes problems with this as well it’s obviously moot.
I linked it more because reaction said he’d lost the .bat to convert to h.264 and as such was using xvid. :)

So Salmon, is there a mencoder + mp4box option in megui? or what exactly do you want me do to to not get a screwed clip on yt?
http://pastebin.com/qkHPTUfb
save that to movie.bat
download http://kurtnoise.free.fr/mp4tools/MP4Box-0.4.5.zip
download http://sourceforge.net/projects/mplayer-win32/files/MPlayer%20and%20MEncoder/revision%2031170/MPlayer-p4-svn-31170.7z/download
copy the files to a folder, make sure that the files are copied so that mp4box.exe and mencoder.exe are in the same folder, then put movie.bat in the same folder
open command prompt
cd yourdirectory
movie “yourmoviename.extension” “fps” “bitrate”

I used the pldx tool to encode my video and i still had the youtube problem…
Sound broken and undesired slow-motions throughout the video. :/
I think i will just upload a .wmv file to youtube. The quality on youtube is always terrible anyway.
Screw it.
