Hello everybody who is reading this.
When the soldier/demo update came it broke all my older demo files and i was just about to make a fragvid.
I have rollbacked team fortress 2 but now i can’t find any matching pldx movie recorder so that i can record my old demo’s..
I CAN run the rollbacked team fortress 2, with the pldx movie recorder (Version 0.5) but i cannot play any demos..
When i load one of my demo’s it says LOADING… bottom right for about 20 seconds and then it just closes to the main menu.
Is there any1 who can help me with this or give me an older version of PLDX recorder so that i can watch my old demo’s again?
Greets,
MightyMe
*edit
I have tested PLDX Movie recorded 0.61, 0.5 and 0.45.
All didn’t work.
As a total idiot, I’m afraid I cant help, however I would like to ask a question about the PLDX recording tool and hijack your thread, rather than create my own, myself.
I can’t seem to record in the full HD mode, the game just fails to load up, the 720p mode works fine but 1080p fails. Any ideas or fixes most welcome.
ye Monkeh, if your monitor isn’t actually of at least full HD res (1920×1080) then DirectX can’t run at that resolution. Although tbh, 1080p is a waste of time for frag movies.
A-ha, that would explain it then, I got a 1440 x 900 monitor.
Thank you.
I still cant seem to get as good quality as other movies I’ve seen. I record at 120 FPS, (which I think may be the problem!), so I can, once I work out Vegas!, run it at quarter speed and get a decent FPS. Here is my latest quality test:

It’s only a few seconds long. Recorded with pldx, compiled with Virtual Dub and rendered with vegas.

do your demos work correctly with your ordinary cfg?
sounds to me like your rollback hasn’t worked properly =/
i can play the demo’s with rollbacked tf2 but it closes/crashes as soon as i get a kill..
but it won’t open tf2demo’s at all with the PLDX recorder :(
it does work on recent demo’s though
Monkeh, the tool runs the game in windowed mode so it won’t open if the forced resolution is bigger than your desktop res, ie. if you increase your res (if your monitor supports it) to say 1920×1080 you can record them. It still does require you to be able to run that res. And skyride, I think recording in 1080p and then making it 720p res is great because the default crosshair and kill notices are fucking huge in 720p.
