using photoshop in movies

say i had a clip of some soldier hitting an airshot for example
would i be able to make a still image of just the soldier and the explosion without the map in the background in photoshop, maybe putting an effect or something in the background instead
i’m new to this whole editing thing
Yep… grab the still frame (from Virtualdub for example), drop it into image editor, cut out the bits you want and composite in your video editor. Quite easy tbh…
I’ve not done it in a TF2 movie but a (bad lol) example of it is here on one of my biking movies… :-)

that’s the kind of effect i was thinking of, thanks
If you download a green map then record from that, put the movie into After Effects you can key out the green so it’ll be a much cleaner effect.
