I would start recording a demo and i used the Startmovie command, when i type in what i want it starts going really really fast, i turn off the console and it goes really slow! then console back on and it goes fast! When i vdub it together it is still slow! Anyone able to help?
It’s normal that it goes slower then usual when your recording the footage (not having your console up).
Are you using any special setting for host_timescale?

you could maybe try and use the movie config, it will close console when you start recording if you have it on. You can read more about it here http://www.pldx.com/blog.php/2009/06/team-fortress-2-movie-recording-guide/.
Are you sure that the video isn’t just lagging, because of the filesize? And did u set the fps in vdub?

That’s normal. In VirtualDub, you need to set the framerate to the framerate you recorded as (Video > Framerate).

Thanks, that fixed it ;D
Startmovie doesn’t record when console is open.
“Started recording movie, frames will record after console is cleared…”
If you need to open console while recording, bind a key to pause the demo (i think on the pldx config it’s Enter) and hit that, then open up console, do whatever you want, close console, and resume the demo. You’ll probably have to cut out a few frames though from where the demo was paused.
