PldX recording config

Hey,
Most of you might have not realized that there used to be a pldx.cfg, which works without the recording tool and still works just fine. Seeing all these “recording tools” I thought this might be useful for some people.
All you need to do is exec the .cfg and add a movie hud and you’re ready to record (you might have to change your graphics settings as well).
Remember to backup your normal configs, so that your settings and binds don’t get overwritten.
You can edit the config settings ingame with the F1, F2 and F3 keys. You can also edit the settings by opening the config and editing the profile alias.

easier to use a tool (which also lets you have a lot of different options in a click)

Except the config is pretty outdated and causes some bugs. I should know as I integrated it into my tool and I had to do tons of tweaking for it to be usable and I am still not done apparently. Also, what do you mean by ‘seeing all these “recording tools”‘? They do in seconds what you would by hand do in 10-30 minutes depending on how much customization you want.

Yep, It was so bugged that you had to use it in your tool, how about you make something better… Its three years old and still there is nothing equivalent to it. If you would’ve actually tried, you might have found the standalone version and it would’ve worked straight way.
“Tons of tweaking” – didn’t know that meant changing a select few things and keeping everything else.
You would get much better results by making your own configs, now you’ve copied so much unnecessary stuff.

I used it because it has a lot of features people want and a lot of the thousands of lines of it are just binds to change values using keys. I figured it would be easier to fix up a few things, rather than make a whole new config. That changing a few select things included a lot of testing. And I didnt change stuff just because I felt like it, I tried the standalone version and it caused demo playback bugs and also printed some unknown alias errors. As it did for other people that reported bugs to me. If the standalone version worked straight away I wouldnt have found a few mistakes in the code. But if you must act like a dick over it, then sure, I could make my own config. Takes time, but I would probably be better off with that.

Do point out the mistakes, I’d be interested to know about them and which aliases didn’t work?

things gettin heated up, chillax
Agreed, sorry if I was rude. There were some errors with fovecho, and other aliases I cant quite remember. But I did this test with a complex alias (I mean I did alias in alias in alias etc.) and then demo playback got bugged like hell, when I removed this alias it worked. So my theory is that too complex aliases can break the demos for some people. I havent exactly checked all the aliases but I assume something causes this.
Oh I just prefer the config because it actually supports vdm recording without being completely retarded with it.
don’t argue its just a config for movies
i think that if all of you cool people out there banded together and made sort of a “community” tool it would be far superior to anything done before,we are eurobros after all
