Posted on tf.tv but got no help there
“Hey there,
I just started using lawena today and I’m having some issues.
It isn’t disabling the hitsounds and chat text properly when playing/recording demos
I tried manually editing lawena configs to include the commands but it still won’t work, when viewing the demos I still hear the hitsounds and can see the chat “
sv_cheats 1?
Not sure how lawena works and what it does with your configs and other files, but if you can still hear the hitsound, it means lawena failed to (re)move your current. That means either the file was made read-only, or lawena is run without the required rights to access/modify the files (in other words: try running it as Administrator).
The same probably applies to your configs (in-game chat etc).

I tried running as admin, changing the demo files rights, and even manually inputing the commands in console to turn off hitsounds and chat in game and it still didn’t work, it’s really odd

changing the demo files rights
I don’t think that’s relevant. What I meant by access rights is the rights to the files that lawena is attempting to modify or move (or whatever it does to them); so your hitsound file and configs (not even sure if it would modify/move the hitsound file itself at all).
If you launch the game normally, so without lawena, can you disable the hitsound and hide the chat?
Check the contents of your /cfg/ folder whilst lawena is running. What’s different?

As I said I am running lawena as admin, also the config folder was read only and I just changed it and tested again and still the same problem.
And yeah, with the game normally I can disable chat at leat (didn’t try hitsounds but it should work).
