I understand that cube’s movie is enjoyable, nice to watch and really fitting for the i46 finals, but the winner shouldnt be judged by how much fitting it is for the i46 finals -_-
how does it show the talent of the top level of tf2 incredibly well? it shows it just like other almost-no-editing-movies (im not flaming btw, this is simply my opinion).

and for envy: please do show where are these “awkward SFM-made facial expressions”? because i looked, and i cant find any.

I wasn’t trying to say that one of the reason it should of one was down to the i46 final (sorry if it came off like that). It’s just I couldn’t think of a better video in the comp to have been played in that situation.
You don’t need a massively high amount of editing to show of the top level of TF2. Random Damage doesn’t have it, the i43 only has a bit of it. Loads of fragmovies get spoiled due to the amount of editing that is used

I am talking about Cube’s movie, by the way, if you missed something.

Bringing all the different parts together well is what makes for great editing. You can have all the flashy effects you want or have the most amazing content but if it isn’t edited in a way that allows the viewer to have an enjoyable experience, and to understand what’s happening, it won’t be very successful. That’s not to say there’s a specific way in which everything has to be edited – it comes down to what you want the end product to be. Grid’s new movie is a pretty good example of great effects and bad editing.

so, no edit equals amazing movie, worth of 200 pound and MUCH, MUCH more work, creativity and fresh equals meh?
i know it may come off as im trying to flame cube, but i just dont think gr1d deserves 2nd place after investing so much in his movie.

it’s an opinion, just because it is not the same as yours doesn’t make it wrong. this argument is pointless.

I never said that no edit makes the better movie. I’m just saying that you’ve got to get the balance right. I thought that the other 2 in the top 3 were pretty boring because of it.
I guess it’s just down the opinion of the people actually voting and the opinions of the actual judges.

The fact is prem wins by a democratic show of supremacy (the goddamn movies were open to public voting).

A public vote

public vote

public

people preferred prem.

Why shouldn’t it be judged on that when the main prize was being shown there?

It shows the talent of the top by showing them doing sick things against the top. “Anybody” can get sick frags vs Div6/5/4, but not everybody can do that against the top.

Oh God, I love where this is headed. You should share experiences with those CSS editors you all so admire.

Is it a coincidence that most of the legendary and praised movies are basically fragshows?

No.

Okay, so, anyone can make win this competition as long as he uses insane prem frags?
As permzilla mentioned, I now see that fighting over this is pointless.
P.S: freshmeatt – I dont admire any CSS editors lol, i simply appreciate the time and energy spent on gr1d’s movie, and it annoys me that he didnt win 1st place.
