where does it say it’s an editing competition
all I see is movie competition
I preferred prem over grid for two reasons:
1. I know the players in Prem. This might seem like a weak excuse to favour a frag movie over another, in fact the whole purpose of frag movies is to showcase amazing frags! With this in mind though, knowing the people and knowing the level they play at makes it, for me, a much more enjoyable watch as its harder to get some of these frags vs better players. Lower skilled players tend to not airstrafe or act in an unpredictable manner.
2. The edit. I didn’t enjoy grid as much as it is over edited. There’s a balance which varies based on opinion, more = better, less = more. I prefer something that is easy to see whats happening around the persons at the time. This is easy to note in Prem whereas grid merely shows the frags and I feel is just over edited.
tl;dr: Prem > Grid, known players, edited but not ott
The above, ofc, is merely my opinion and grid truly deserves that seconds spot.

Yes everyone knows this competition was for a mixture of frags and editing. However what has to be taken into account is that this movie was shown before the i46 final. No other video would come close to hyping up the crowd than Cube’s did. What cube did was basically make a new version of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_6HDqddS64 .
Just because the most difficult editing components weren’t in this movie it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t win. Its a video that displays the talent of the top level of TF2 incredibly well, no other movie came close to it (which is clearly showed through the landslide of votes that it got from the community).

I understand that cube’s movie is enjoyable, nice to watch and really fitting for the i46 finals, but the winner shouldnt be judged by how much fitting it is for the i46 finals -_-
how does it show the talent of the top level of tf2 incredibly well? it shows it just like other almost-no-editing-movies (im not flaming btw, this is simply my opinion).
and for envy: please do show where are these “awkward SFM-made facial expressions”? because i looked, and i cant find any.
