Hello there. I was bored yesterday and started trying some new things out like skyboxes and new colour corrections and would like to have some criticism on the clip. I would appreciate if you could give me a comment either here or underneath the video. Thanks :)
I’m no movie edit, but here’s my opinion:
– Not a fan of the explosion effects, make it’s messy
– A bit too blue and dark. You got a really bright skybox too. (Like in 0:29, the sky takes away the focus from the soldier you are shooting)
– Add a crosshair!
Thank you, I will definetely try out to correct the colours next time and will disable the particles from PLDX. I think the last point is rather personal opinion, some like it without some do like it with a crosshair. Still, thanks for the comment :)
I like crosshair (especially on scout) so I can watch their aim. It’s just that with no crosshair I can’t see if the aim is consistent and not all over the place, if you know what I mean. Kinda adds to the ‘skillfullness’ of it, though not with the editing but rather to the player.
Crosshair in Scout movies is definitely a must in my opinion and I feel like that’s the general consensus as well so you should probably look into that.
Agree with Morphine about the colours and the messy explosions. I think effects should be used scarsely and only for example to emphasize a transition to another clip or something. The colours are really depressing to me hehe.
I like seeing a crosshair also.
The colour correction looks pretty damn fine imo. You know, the if-colour-correction-would-be-a-woman-then-this-is-how-I’d-want-her-to-look-like fine. Have to agree with the above comments on explosion particles though.
Dude the CC was really OKAY same goes for the skybox. I liked them both. But get rid of the PLDX effects.

Just for me to be sure : Does the sync, Color Correction and Cameras fit or is there something you dislike?

I liked, but in my opinion, you should put a little more movement on the smooths. I liked the clean style and CC too. You’re in a good way :D
