Well theres been some pritty amazing frag videos by people, my favorite would probably have to be drJustice’s one and maybe Jh’s video, but even with the skill of editing that went into those I haven’t seen anything that could hold a torch to some of the other frag videos i have seen from other games.
For example: http://www.pldx.com/movie/102/VAE_VICTIS_-_Veni_Vidi_Vici_/

My challenge to you is to make one that can hold a torch to it ;)

Edit, it doesn’t have to be a frag video of a specific team, or a 15 minutes long video, just a very good video :>
Maybe, if its difficult to find footage why not use a tournament rather than a specific team?

Hey dats!

I would have to strongly agree with you. Some of you might know I run that specific site you linked there, and I’ve been trying to activly add any half decent TF2 movies there as soon as I spot them, but to be fair its hard to find many good ones worth adding, and most of them don’t cope even close to what other games have to offer. We have been planning on running a movie contest soon there for TF2 specifically as well, but quite a lot of other stuff have been keeping us busy, but hopefully once we get some sponsors interested we could provide some decent prizes as well.

As for TF2 movies, I’d agree that if there’s trouble finding decent footage, how about making more movies for top clans or just make a community movie?

Some of the most popular CSS movies made are the UK+Ireland CSS scene movies, which contains footage from lot of players (yes from UK + Ireland), the 2 newest ones:

http://www.pldx.com/movie/5/UK__Ireland_2/

I’d be definetly be interested in working on a community/div 1 clan movie. We are soon launching a TF2 weekly coverage video series in association with gotfrag, but it’ll mainly cover the US scene. However, something similar would be awesome to have for ukesa for example, in all its simpleness, just highlights of top frags from the games played during that week. Although I’m already working on that with gotfrag, I’d be very interested in doing something similar ukesa if there’d be any others interested in helping out.

Quality TF2 movies = more people can see how enjoyable the game is, and hopefully increase our player base and coverage :)

Some other movies notable for their awesomeness:

great edit on that vid. would want to see more of the high grade editing in tf2 vids but imo this was a really boring watch. could be just me but I don’t like seeing someone run around a corner and pop a cap in someone’s ass. followed by another one of the exact same scenes for 15 minutes in a row.

Hehe jonni i think most FPS’ are just that because its pritty much the same on tf2 but with prediction for rockets etc, i dont know what takes more skill though the noscope shots while jumping round corners blindly or a mid air… Alot of its luck but alot of its skill so i dunno but yeah most CS(:S) and COD movies are just jumping round corners for filler and because its quite funny but on the most part i think there should be more movies with multiple player kills etc (like not just a sniper shooting a shot and luckily killing 2 people, more 1v3 situations but at an even skill level)

Tuna, ive seen some of your videos and their very good ^^
But yeah i agree with you that UKeSA would be a great way of doing it, I’m not sure if prizes are really needed though but i dunno people are greedy :< would be nice though to maybe have a competition of who can make the best frag video with only footage from UKeSA official matches or something :)

EDIT: I remember i used to watch sYnced 2 on Imperox’s website ^^

EDIT2: A desent WoW video :o

Hey dats!

eoN^ my frag movies never contained pretty much any editing, just relied on the frags :P

eoN^

Well i remember that Tuna and Salmon one, the fish mobile or something that was very good :)

And Enigmation or whatever its called or was that just Salmon who made that :S to many fish your confusing me!

Hey dats!

Engination, did that one mostly alone. As for the community movie/ukesa weekly video, if anyone is interested in doing something like that with me or would like to help out in some way, msg me at #pldx

eoN^

I’ll help out in anyway i can but im rubbish at editing, never even tried it :3

Assault Marine Sigh

tbh I just dont have what it takes to make great vids. As much as I think to myself lets do this trhat and the other when it comes down to it, it just doesnt work out. However id be interested in a competition, would motivate me more :D

plus having kills from people who can actually play tf2 (not mine for eg) will help loads :P

If anyone wants to help me edit my upcoming cc movie, feel free to msg me :)

I have material ready and recorded to 120fps lossless vids for 10 minutes worth or something. Could use some help with timing the action with the music and also with effects.

My previous movie project can be seen here:

just putting it out there: get quaked 3 is probably the best video ever made. it’s incredibly impressive.

that cod4 vid however, I’m gonna have to agree with jonni… turn corner -> pop cap -> win

tf2 is sooo much more exciting.

saiboat

i keep wanting to make a quality fragmovie but everytime i start my team folds, falls apart or etc. :P
