Possible at all? all characters stay put, but I can roam around/smooth freely.
The effect I want to achieve is obvious, but can it be done?
No smooth in that, no recording either.
It’s possible, and it’s been done before. There was a tutorial on it as well but it seems to have been taken down.
there’s a proper method of doing it that escapes me at this point that involves making camera splines and pausing and then playing back the selected spline once everything is paused or something. the hack and slash method of doing it is pausing the demo, hitting drive, closing the demo overlay, pressing record and going hog wild
Quoted from dave
isnt it possible to set the playback speed to 0.0?
Yeah but you cant make a smooth out of it.
Naf made a tutorial about that. It’s in russian language but it is understandable
link please?
nvm he probably took it down since i can’t find it

NaF:
Hello, everyone. I am Naf and today I am going to tell about smooth in stopmotion, or when players do not move. After I published my last clip, I received a lot of questions about it and how I achieved this effect. that suprised me a lot, because, to my mind, this trick is quite simple. So, we have a prepared smooth, and we may press “show processed” and we will receive what we want, but we need to escape from green and violet lines. This is quite the main moment, when people do not know what to do, so I just want to tell how to fix this.
First, we record a tick somewhere, when our demo stopped; also we record “start” and “end” ticks of our smooth. Then click “save”, then “ok” and close the current demo.
Then we open new demo and fo to tick, on which it was stopped previously. Open “demo smoother”, select “start” and “end” – ticks, click “reload”, then “select” and put ticks in “hide legend”, “hide original” and “hide processed” boxes. Thats all! Now we can press “show processed”, hide “demoUI” and record our smooth. Thanks for watching, subscribe my and “captreproductions” channels. You can also ask me questions – I would help, if I could.
you are a god!
But it says things pretty messy, I didnt fully understand…
I first just make a smooth that is a “cut” of what I want, and then in that smooth, I make a new smooth with actual smoothing + I do that Select thing?
Then I open that smooth and record it?
