Starmovie AVI framerate problems

When I try to use the command “startmovie avi” on Xvid, my clip flickers from 10-20 fps really quickly, and looks a bit shit :x
I use these binds to record/stop:
bind “KP_END” “startmovie zz_frag avi; demo_resume; host_framerate 30; ”
bind “KP_PGDN” “endmovie; host_framerate 0; demo_pause”
Any help on this? Or are there any codecs that would give better quality?
If you need any more info (specs etc) ask ;x
Thankssss in advance
if you did it like this, it’s just gonna look that way during the capture process, cause the engine is writing like 180mb/s (~6mb/pic*30/s) to the HD. If you dub them it’ll look just fine.
edit: uhm… directly to avi? dunno if it’s that way then :O
don’t make avi straight away, and u might wanna throw that host_framerate first so it doesn’t do some other frame rate at start. oh and record with higher fps than 30, even if your final movie is gonna be 30 frames (record 60 or 90 or more if you intend to slow it down).
btw i got a problem that recording at high frame rates makes models lag and move forward-backwards making it imposible to watch…
So.. I record it as multiple screenshots @ host_framerate 90 and then use Vegas to Put them together + export at 30fps?
u need virtual dub to put them together, then use vegas
All you need is here:
My problem, and I still cant figure it out, is why motion blur gets removed from each frame except for the first :/
Thanks fragga <3
Would you recommend having mo-blur on or off?
EDIT: All makes so much more sense now!!! Thanks :D
I’d have motion blur on if the damn thing work render it – but for some reason it doesn’t no matter what I try
Does anyone know how to get away that lagging? I mean I record at host_framerate 120 and startmovie as .tga sequence and everything looks like shit. Slo-mos look like shit because models are warping and lagging around and normal speed shots look weird and laggy, too. Only in fast forward the lagging is barely visible. I think this is fucked up, makes it impossible to make a smooth nice movie. But otherwise, the Dr. Justice fragmovie has nice camera flys without any lagging and also normal frag shots are mostly nice and smooth. If there are laggs they are small, but my footage makes me wanna puke if I look at it, such laggy shit!!!.. is there a trick? sorry for the language, but that problem is a big pain in the ass
Big THX
