Hello guys, I’m a brand new Team Fortress 2-editor!
I’m a former CS 1.6-editor who’s also making BFBC2-movies..
So when I started with TF2-moviemaking some week ago I started using Lawenda Recording Tool, which is a great program!
Well this is 2 short clips I’ve done!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEUxu3khpas
Watch in 720p!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRVBf3P6bdU
Watch in 1080p!
Well I’ll see what you guys think, hear some opinions.. Because I’m planning on making a fragmovie, like a community fragmovie I think.
This is a list of what program I’m using:
Lawenda Recording Tool
VirtualDub
Sony Vegas 7.0 (Don’t like the newer versions)
Adobe After Effects CS5
Legion / Easy h264
Take care :-)

2nd clip was way better then the 1 not jsut because of 1080p.
but you rly should stop with this small vids and pics/fonts in it :< destroys the flow
nice song choices. now dont destroy your upcomign stuff with the wrong colors
I can actually see that you’ve been editing cs 1.6 movies by watching the “intro”. Used to play it and almost every edit looks the same :P
The random text/pictures popping up are annoying. Also – no Linkin Park please.
And what did the text in the end of the first clip say again? I cba to pause to read it, I guess there wasn’t something important in there.
And regarding that smooth – did you had any deadlines or why didn’t you have any time to do it properly? I hope you’ll take your time with the movie you’ll make and not rush things.

Yeah I hate Linkin Park, that’s like the only song I like from them.
I won’t pop up random texts in movies in the future :)
And I will not rush movies, I promise. The thing about that smooth was that the time was my patient really. The demos have been trobeling lately and when it finally works the smooth didn’t register so I got so angry and just didn’t do it.
No I won’t do like this in fragmovies I’ll take the time :)
this should really be in the frag clip thread, not in a thread of its own.

Well I didn’t know that it existed a thread like that ^^
wtf did i just watch? youtube has desciption boxes for shit like. “sry guise i couldnt have time for them alls smoother”
Why should it be in the frag clip thread chris? He’s asking for advice/input for future clips/movies, If I was browsing the frag clip thread I’d rather see actual frag clips than people posting comments to help OP with his editing. Better to sort it in a separate thread.
It seems like tf2 community is being so nice with newcomer… Nah seriously it’s like the first post wasn’t that polite so then everyone has to put a worst one, chill out guys…
Otherwise they are quite right, poping text aren’t that good and you should put your issues with your frag clip in the description not in the movie, beside that it was nice to watch
Seems like you are copying the same styles of the other TF2 editers, random smooths, flashes etc.
Avoid doing that and try to come up with something original, it will take more effort, but the rewards would be greater.
I’d avoid doing the black “widescreen” borders, random zooms etc. CSS style editing doesn’t go well with TF2.
The only good CSS edit is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t68_wFflHNs
Keep it original and keep it clean, you are making a clip for FRAGS not how snazzy your twitch plugin is on your ripped version of AE.
