Hi all,

If I had a clip of a demoman sticky jumping, and wanted to extract the demoman+the smoke from the sticky jump from the rest of the scene, how would I go about it ? (if at all).

I’m using Sony Vegas, btw.

Thanks,

Use a greenscreen map, and chroma key. Google it up.

Sounds like a simple chroma key situation to me :S

Thanks guys, I’m new to proper movie making… so expect a few more questions in the future :P

(Just in case someone finds this post way in the future)

If you wanted to keep the integrity of the scene (and depending on what’s in the background), you could record 2 sets of the exact same footage/smooth, one with “r_drawothermodels 0” & the other with “r_drawothermodels 1” & mask out what you don’t want. Hope this helps
