Tip for people streaming TF2

A lot of streams I see are frequently interrupted by the streamer Alt-Tabbing. Apart from the frame-rate drop (not much you can do about that), there is also the annoyance of the alt-tab window popping up over the game, which presumably you’d rather you viewers don’t see.
Try VistaSwitcher. This is an Alt-Tab replacement which allows you to customize several things, including the position of your Alt-Tab overlay (on the Behavior tab in Preferences). This presumes that you are not streaming in full-screen because you still have to be able to see what window you are switching to! If you don’t like VistaSwitcher you can just exit it when you have finished streaming to get your normal Alt-Tab back. It’s also possible to change the shortcut for VistaSwitcher if you don’t like it taking Alt-Tab.
Another option for people using Windows 7 is using the Win key + the number of whichever application you want to switch to in the taskbar. So if TF2 is the third application on your taskbar and IRC is fourth, pressing Win+4 will change focus to your IRC application and Win+3 will change back to TF2, without bringing up any overlay on top of TF2 (provided that your windows don’t overlap).
Hope these two simple suggestions help some people. I don’t have good enough internet to stream myself so I appreciate all the new people that are doing it!
Edit: btw I have registered the domain kritz.me, and have a URL shortener installed on the server. I have a bunch of streams with shortlinks on the index http://kritz.me , but if you have any other TF2-related links you’d like a stylized address for, let me know.

Using it now, together with hidden taskbar. Until gamesource works properly for me on XSplit.
Found out you can actually drag the taskbar to the other window, while keeping my big monitor as primary monitor. No more taskbar alt-tabs during recordings ftw!
Nice, but the biggest issue is I think that the TF2 sound stops when you alt tab. Is there any way you can keep that going btw?
