Clearly Chris isn’t considered Human no more. He is a “thing”.
:D
hahahah that’s what I thought :D
I had this problem and fixed it. Basically i googled it and some people told me to download this program that opens up the Vegas system files and you change a character to allow for vegas to use more RAM. After i did this it worked fine. Sorry i dont have a link it was a while ago :x
I managed to render. I downloaded a program called CFFexplorer and edited the application for sony vegas which allowed it to use more ram. I’m not entirely sure it worked but I rebooted my pc, started vegas up, set the ram preview to 0 and set the max rendering threads to 2 (because I have 2 cores) and then rendered in the Sony AVC into .mp4 with good quality. I wanted to use best but it seems to crash. I’m less than happy but I guess I don’t have much choice.
I’ve got 2 solutions for you and both of them working quite well for me :)

Hope this will help
Ugh don’t render to anything but lossless/uncompressed in vegas, the quality is terribad.
I had this problem… rebooted and made sure no memory-wasting programs opened, ie. steam/msn
Now I have to do that every time I wanna render, but reading this makes me realise, it could be worse :D
I had the exact same problem. And I fixed it by buying genuine software on Ebay. I tried 4-5 pirate versions and everyone of them would use more than 1024 MB of ram during rendering. after hours and hours of edit, it would crash and that happened until I got mad as hell and spend some $ on it. The genuine version never exceeded 150 MB of memory usage. I got Sony Vegas 8 Pro, and never had a problem again.
P.S. since I have dual boot (linux) I use kdenlive for video edit, which is free and has the Vegas looks.
Last edited by ih,
I had it too, didnt had the error when I was on 2GB instead of 6GB. Toohooo
dunno how i fixed it though.
I fixed the problem. Noticed I had a 32bit version of vegas. Bought a 64bit version and it never happened again :)
