MY QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED! THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO POSTED.

Hey there!
I’m an animator, and I’m currently working on a very short animation of the Administrator, and I need some nice in-game footage.
I’m looking for permission to use footage from a match. It doesn’t really matter what map, but Viaduct, or a snowy map is preferred. CP maps are also preferred. Much more important then the map, is that there are multiple camera angles.
As there are so many monitors, I need 5 or six angles at least. Spectator cams watching the points would be great, and at LEAST four POVs. If they’re all simultaneous, that would be even MORE better.
I only need a very short length of footage, around 30 seconds or so, but it’s difficult because I need so many angles. I can fudge it a bit if everything isn’t simultaneous, so we’ll see how it works out.
I know this is a strange request for these kind of boards, but I figured that this was as good a place as any for high-quality TF2 videos.
If you can think of a better place to look, please tell me!

Indeed, however I get the impression that he’s new to editing and is simply stating what he hopes to gain from the post in the broadest possible terms.
To clarify, I’m unsure of what is avaliable to use. I don’t know what kind of footage is recorded for tournaments, and don’t know who i would contact to get permission to use the videos.
I’m googling it but I can’t figure out what a STV demo is. If you could clarify or give me a link, i’d be very grateful.

stv == sourcetv, essentially a ‘server demo’ recording all movement as the server sees it. think of it as being just like a pov demo, you can rewind, pause, slo-mo, whatever, but you can also move around freely at any point and go to any player’s POV.

There are two kinds of demos in TF2 (and any other Source game, I guess?):
Point-of-view demos show the configuration and the point of view by one player
SourceTV demos show all points of views and provide a free look mode
So with a STV demo you can record multiple points of view + spectator cameras.
A little research shows that’s exactly what I wanted. Thanks!
I feel a little silly now.
Where is the best place to download good STV demos? After this is answered, i’ll delete this topic.

That’s perfect. Thanks a bunch.
I can’t figure out how to delete this topic, so please have an administrator lock it.
