whenever i launch tf2 anyway possible (through steam friends, library, desktop icon) it just goes to the pldx tf2, not actual tf2

I had the same a while ago, PLDX crashed and didn’t remove the settings. I fixed it by removing my cfg folder, resource + script folders and then just run tf2 and change everything to normal. You can try running it with -autoconfig so it resets everything to default again, but you’ll have to remake your configs
