Anyway I made a trailer for this movie thingy recorded, cutted, edited, epicness, and awesomenessed in about an hour. Trailers for fragmovies…unless you’re pro, which you claim you are not, and the trailer is AMAZING, I’m not getting excited.

The usual course for a decent fragmovie is this:
– record footage over several months
– re-watch and purge bad footage
– collect more footage
– create a concept for your movie
– select music
– create smooths/stunts/whatever else you need
– create intro, outro, player-name-overlays
– start cutting
– edit
– polish
– release
– hope it’s good enough so you don’t get torn to shreds by people like myself (we have a union)

The usual course for a fragmovie with a trailer is as follows:
– Record for 2 days
– Edit hastily
– post trailer
– wait for 2 months
– never actually release the movie and hope people aren’t going to notice

That’s how it is from my experience on etf2l.org, at least.

Now for your trailer, like I already said, not enough content, too many black screens, low settings (which are unexcusable since you can record at 1 fps on a toaster on high settings due to the nature of the ingame recording tool), overused, overly dramatic music. Sorry.

Don’t get me wrong, I created about 5 pretty terrible PoV fragvids myself before I created a somewhat less-terrible fragmovie for my team, but this was…ya. Keep at it.

Hmm good points, I understand what you mean about the not releasing thing but the thing is I’m doing all the editing and I don’t wanna let my friend down so it will probably be released mid September. As I said It’s a bit of a joke you’re not meant to take it too seriously, we are not pros :p. Anyway the thing with the Soldier spinning look at it like this PLDX doesn’t work for me I got it working kind of once and I got a spin that was 3 minutes long. So I put that in Sony Vegas Pro 9 and increased the playback rate but it stop started because it was too quick so after much debating I put it in windows movie maker used the speed up effect about twice published it and put it in sony vegas increased the playback and I’m lucky to get it down to 21 seconds.

Oh and what did you think of the effects, transitions, writing font, text effects, placement etc. Don’t forget to subscribe :P
