I’m kinda sick of wondering which settings is the best, so I’m wondering if someone who are the editors for “Yoyotech frag movie” (ToRn productions, am i right?) can upload a vid/pic which shows me/us the best render settings in vegas, and the best thing to do using megui.
Appreciate it if someone is so kind :)
The guy who made YYT movie was decap, perhaps you could ask him directly.
Dunno about YYT, but the way I rendered the French community movie was 60fps uncompressed out of vegas/compressed with ffmpeg to 9000kbps h264.

But you know the pr0s in tf2 are always ignoring the “noobs” because they’re better than all of us, so I don’t really think he will accept a friend invitation tbh..
the yyt movie was recorded with tgas uncompressed at possibly 240 fps, put together in vdub with lagarith lossless codec. in megui rendered h264 double pass with 6000 kbps. thats what media player classis tells me.
the ghostwriters movie is rendered with only 1500 for instance :)
just keep working thourhgout with laagrith, so u dont have to recompress. vegas just saves the file without rendering.

but what i’m wondering is what settings is he using on the avi. file. I’ve got two different settings, 1 of them always make my vegas creash, when i use the other one and the use megui there’s no sound after encoding..
Is this settings right?

I’d like to know which settings that’s used in yyt for example.

get the lagarith codec. the default uncompressed one is shit. huge filesize and even more huger kbps.
what i use is (best way to go): 1280×720/lagarith uncompressed/px aspect 1:1
leave the rest. under audio u have to tick the include audio box, then use pcm uncompressed default (44.1 khz 16 bit), or if available aif. but i think vegas doesnt have that. anways.
in megui, just follow the utotial on pldx. its very good. setting to use in megui is x264 double pass. as audio faac at whatever bitrate you want. (when u start up megui, u go first tools -> script creator; then choose input video file; then hit save; after that, u have to choose below audio inout, and just select the video file again). go to auto encode, there tick bitrate below, type in anything from 2000-6000 then hite queue.
back in the main window, there is a tab called queue. below is start.
thats all to it. yyt doesn tuse anything else. these are the best settigns to use. anything over 6000 kbps is riduclous. 6 min fragmovie with 9000 is like 700 mb big.

okay, thanks m8. ill take that in mind :)
Well, if you ask mine.
I dont really use meGUI anymore and that stuff.
I’ve just been using .wmv format in Sony Vegas Pro 9.. I know, it rules! :D

You too are retards. I asked the same question to decap on IRC and, what a shock, he answered. Don’t blame it on the “pros” if you don’t even ask, just keep crying, I’m sure that’ll solve all your problems.

I’m sure decap is nice, tho I’ve got experience with “pros” and they are all looking down on us because “we” are noobs/retards. IMO they’ve got no reason to be like dicks to us, since they have not many irl friends and are NERDS/white-zit-faces (ofc someone are popular in the social community).
I’m sorry if I’m rude, but I’m just fucked up drunk and it really pisses me off how they treat us.
So, Peio, do you maybe mind giving me/others the settings/blablabla that decap uses? :)
Export your video from vegas as a lossless video
x264 settings for the yyt movie:
cabac=1 / ref=5 / deblock=1:-1:-1 / analyse=0x3:0x133 / me=umh / subme=6 / psy=1 / psy_rd=1.0:0.0 / mixed_ref=1 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=2 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / fast_pskip=1 / chroma_qp_offset=-2 / threads=3 / sliced_threads=0 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / mbaff=0 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=3 / b_pyramid=0 / b_adapt=2 / b_bias=0 / direct=3 / wpredb=1 / wpredp=2 / keyint=250 / keyint_min=25 / scenecut=40 / rc_lookahead=40 / rc=2pass / mbtree=1 / bitrate=5845 / ratetol=1.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=10 / qpmax=51 / qpstep=4 / cplxblur=20.0 / qblur=0.5 / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:1.00
If you’d do some research on your own, you would be surprised how much info u can find. If u want the best quality then just use the max settings, but u will be encoding for a few days if you’ve got a shit cpu.
