The only reliable way to watch old demos is with a NoSteam version
I have some version of tf2 saved after 119 update… Maybe a possibility to make a rollback?
Would’ve been nice if someone could write a kinda tutorial on how to do it. It’s so hard to understand the stuff that’s written before.

This. Google is your friend :)
I’ve used GCFprep for more than a year to create rollbacks/backups (~200mb each) and they worked great. But after june 12th update they’ve stopped working :( now I had to download no-steam clients (~6gb each) and update them manualy to the version i need. That’s just sad.

You’re doing it wrong then ;)
1. Download non-steam TF2 once.
2. Update it to a version you need.
3. MAKE A BACKUP
4. Goto 2.
All you need now is to download the updates.
I have been struggling with the nosteam version and all I get is an error message and then the game shuts down. It loads to the main menu-screen but I notice there is another background instead of a TF2-background. As soon as it has loaded I get an error message and the instance crashes. Anyone got any ideas? :s
Does the error message say anything useful?
Also, make sure to apply *all* the updates. (in the right order too, but I trust this is obvious)
Feel free to add me on steam if you need help.

not anymore, rollback patches havent been created since a while back, not even one for before the 119th update
If I’m wrong though I would be overjoyed since I lost a shit ton of demos :x
