Possible to run tf2 in 720p on 4:3 monitor

Ok well basically I tryed to run tf2 this morning to record a short clip in 720p. I used the following launch commands -sw -noborder -h 1280 -w 720 The game started up ok but right before the main menu crashed. I have a 1024×768 monitor. Please help :D

That’s not going to help you, that just launches tf2 with -windowed -noborder if you ask it to, it’s not going to help…

Turn up your screen res. :P
You can’t load TF2 at a res higher than your monitor. Do you actually have an insanely old monitor or do you just have one of these PC’s setup for half blind people. :P

My new monitor broke so im stuck on this shit 15″ one. Ill try set the res to 1280×720 and see does it start then
