what nvc wants, nvc should get - maps with dark/evening/night sky

I like colores thats why i play tf2. Sooooo many colores … it is about FUN not about sadness

but you are with your night sky like the spy: ” This is spy rainbows make me cry”
should fix that to “This is (i allready forgot your name) blue sky makes me cry”

No you can add images to HUDs, I remember seeing HUDs ages ago with images of wrenches, stickies beside ammo & metal counters.

Those images already exist within the HUD, people have just did a very clever job of positioning them.

It would mean relighting, recompiling and uploading every single map used in the league. It’s not just something you can do on a whim because you’ve got to light the map intelligently.

The lighting on a map is pre-baked and not dynamic, you can change the skybox texture, but you can’t change the colour of the lighting, so it wouldn’t be truely night (nt to mention all the light entities you’d have to configure on and off etc. etc.). Even dynamic lights in source are pre-baked (huuuuge filesize).

It works with characters too (like the +):

But it’s not 100% correct (but very close) and you have to change the coordinates for every single resolution. No idea how to make the outline larger though.

Actually, Extremer may be on to something. You can use custom fonts in HUDs, so theoretically, you could MAKE a font where say, a Captial “A” is the crosshair you want to use. Would be an absolute bastard to make but should work.
