cp_gorge in 6v6?

I really hope that this community embraces new official content, last night I asked two seperate teams if they were up for playing cp_gorge and both declined. We need to start playing new maps, i’m getting so bored of granlands.

Please people, GIVE THE TWO NEW MAPS A GO. Being ‘too big’ is no excuse, there are only two capture points anyway so players should know where they need to be.

I think gorge is actually too big for 6v6, but doublecross does look promising, it has a nice middle point to hold including flanking routes for classes that can explosive jump. Should at least be tried!

It’s got to be worth a shot, at least. I’ve grown to like it the more I’ve played it. I quite like how you don’t just have to hold on the point — there are enough rooms between each point to hold in-between so you’re not just holding the same choke points over and over again. I see no reason why it’s forever destined for publics but a proper playtest will prove all.

ctf_doublecross reminds me of an Unreal Tournament map for some reason.

I had my fingers crossed for a 5cp map but this is still pretty good. This really is a fun map and isn’t quite as large as some are making out to be. The extra space puts you under less pressure and really caters to all classes. I really hope it is at least tested.

Mind you, I’d like to see a 5cp map similar to gorge. Badlands and granary are very choked maps. The entire team has to squeeze through chokepoints over and over again. Maybe then we would see utility classes used more often.

I like the last point, it feels very open and the walls look a teeny bit like a TFC map.

A 5cp with the openness of that final point would be great. Hundreds of strats could be made etc.

Doublecross seems very promising. Similar-ish to turbine’s fast paced gameplay while still being very unique.
