I do like the pit though but i just think its going to end up making more people rage about the fan when you get stunned midair over it as solly or demo. Still, if it goes down well in playtests, I expect its a decent enough map to go along with.

I don’t like your first two sentences. You instantly disregard a new concept as rubbish before even having tried it out, and that’s what limits the influx of new and fresh maps to competitive tf2.
I think this sounds like an interesting concept, with several plans of attack as far as middle goes. You can run a soldier or scout (depending which class you’d like 2 of at mid) capping 2nd while you fight, or you could send in a full force. Additionally it seems sniper-friendly, but hopefully it won’t be more sniper-friendly than freight, and if it’s not, then both 2 scouts and 1 scout/sniper are viable tactics, which is also welcome.
I haven’t looked at it yet, but will do, and I’ll try to get some plays on it come January or so.
I was trying to reference what someone said before me about that type of cap point setup usually being called rubbish, along with the death pits. I think thats probably the reason they’re regarded that way. Like I say, I’m happy to try nything and if it works, the playtests will show it does. We definitely need some variations on the game mode and things like this and another new map which seemed to get lost by the wayside, where there were 6 cap points seem to be viable options to vary the mid point dynamic.
Hopefully some of these will show they’re suitable for 6v6 and we’ll have a more interesting map pool in future seasons.
I think its a Pub map anyway so thats why its big, its supposed to be. On fps banana it states map size 32.

A map supports 32 players if it has 16 spawn points in every spawn, thus Granary and Badlands support 32 players ;)
But yeah, the map itself seems to have an extra sort of… yard area, if you know what I mean. Like in Granlands it goes Mid -> Combat area -> 2nd -> 3rd, but in this there’s an extra combat area.
Whilst this extends the map somewhat it doesn’t make the actual arenas you fight in any larger, so rounds would be longer, but the combat itself would be just as intense.
