Found some more places where stickies can be hidden/not supposed to be. For example the first screenshot is from below the 2nd point where stickies can be hidden and then doing damage to people standing on the point, much like on cp_gravelpit’s A point:

The 2nd screenshot also shows the 2nd point and where the stickies can be put on the side of the point:

The third one once again shows the 2nd point where I with a little effort managed to get a total of three(!) stickies completely hidden on the same place. The stickies can be hidden all around the two thingies on the ground:

Stickies can be hidden inside the doorframe to mid, although it took some time before I could find the right angle form which to shoot the stickies:

The fifth and sixth screenshots show that stickies can be hidden on the walls and the bars along the walls inside the building leading to the last point:

Basically, anywhere on the map where things (boxes barrels you name it) connect to the floor or walls stickies can be hidden partly or fully. There are more places than the ones in he screenshots but I didn’t have the time to test/take screenshots of them all.

Krull this is the same for example in badlands infact there’s holes in badlands where you can hide stickies into the door frames (all of them near cp1) also the rocks also the fences and so on..

It’s to do with the thickness of the brush on the prop/object and as far as i’m aware unless i go research heavily there isn’t a fix for such a thing.

It happens on all maps i can vouch for this, go try badlands on local host you will notice that the stickies go completely in and you can’t even see them.. i think the main thing is though that you can’t put say 8 in a hole and let them all be hidden.

Like you can get 1 hidden or partially hidden but not say 6 in a row… which is the main thing..

But thank you for spotting those, however i’m sure there are plenty more areas where you could put a partial sticky in.

The timelapse videos are cool, but, how about cutting them down to size a little bit?
62MB, 94MB & 77MB seems a little on the steep side especially as they are effectively slideshows.

Take a look at how valve done it with Viaduct. You really don’t need hi-def high bitrate version on the publicity page. Hide them on a sub page and put in embedded lower res versions instead. I ran cap2 through a video converter and it’ll reduce in size considerably.

This doesn’t help me, can you tell me your computer specifications as i’m pretty sure the map is tested on a worse spec than yours and it doesn’t run so bad only when more than 16 ppl join the server it starts to affect the duff slow ass crap hardware it’s tested on.

First of all, use commas plz :D
2nd, im not saying it’s unplayable, but isn’t there something you can do to do it a little smaller or remove unnecessary things (if there are some) that maybe can be the reason. I don’t mind playing one game on this map, but it had been nice having a nice fps when I first play it :)

i just tested the map for 4 hours and i had massive fps problems on last when 12 ppl pushed in and ubered. fix it byte!

i was in when he ran the public (you too thu), i had no problem with FPS drops or anything with 20 players connected..

Also Honeymustard i couldn’t replicate that really really weird bug you showed me in the screenshot, we checked in hammer and it’s firm to the wall dude…can i ask you to try and do the same again with same gfx settings/config and see if u get it. If you don’t then its a gfx glitch from whatever commands you are using…

I tried with highest settings and it doesn’t happen. So maybe it happens because of DirectX level 81.

On a 24man server for

– cp1 i had good fps however there was small fps drops (around 10-20)
– cp2 also good fps however there was small fps drops (around 15-25)
– cp3 Great Fps optimization :D

On cp1 and cp2 it's not bad but it loses around 10-30fps when i had 12 players infront of me, however in my defence the map has never been stress tested for 24man server quality so i'm chuffed now that it has, Larky is optimizing various areas at cp1/cp2 for greater fps.

My thanks go out to all random public players and 'pro' players for playing last night, after initially setting it up with values i thought that would be suffice, some variables have changed so you can enjoy it a bit more :P

– Respawnwavetime is now set as 6, which is a reasaonable time we found out last night for 4hours for defenders and attackers
– Also the timelimit has now changed to 600minutes
– Class restrictions are in place, 3 snipers 3 demo’s 3 engi’s.

Last night it was full from 9pm-2:30am UTC was :D

I play with dx level 95 and full graphics but I’ve disabled hdr. I was really impressed about cp3 fps, it was so smooth and just great. Cp2 was ok and I had just occasional lags on cp1 with many people on scree. But overall I liked the map and it runs really nice, unlike freight for example which is laggy as hell for me.

Me and my shitnerd clan mates had a good time playing with the ‘pros’, I love the map and had slight issues with FPS drops at middle too. Nothing too bad.

Well done one and all.
Also loved finishing top scorer too.

(So what if I did play medic… :P)

Also byte… not everyone runs in full res and full graphics like you. We play the game, not admire the pretty colours.
