Opened up the balcony area, because it felt cramped, and because it had some really crappy brushwork, so I rebuilt the whole thing; this is the resulting (undetailed) look: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32/BioTerrorFrog/example11.jpg

I still might break it up a bit with some cover because it now feels a bit too open.

It’s so fun to play it, if you play good you can make a long round, but if your team isn’t good… :p. Awesome map.

We played a4 last night and it was thoroughly enjoyable.

I found that on initial run out the soldiers were slightly outrunning me as medic – just like granary. The new screenshots are looking really nice.

Should have this area finished within 2-3 days, then it’s off to do the RED base. The lines where you can see through textures is simply nodrawn cover that wasn’t rendered.

By my calculations, I should be able to finish the map a day before the deadline :D

To be completely honest, I haven’t done as much as I liked, so I’m going to focus on making the BLU side as good as possible for my final entry.

We have to write some sort of tactics document as well I think?

Here is the change list for this version (please note that several areas on BLU’s side are still under construction, as I did not have the time to finish them for this version):

Alpha 5 21/03/09:-
- Bug Fixes:
* Attempted to fix not being able to block final CP
- Improvements:
* Nearly full detail pass on BLU side
* Renamed map to 'Fool Hill' (cp_fool_hill)
- Balancing:
* Second CP changes
- Replaced backstairs with new ramps next to the CP
- Extended defenders balcony to support these changes
- Added raised platform for 2nd CP health
* Third CP changes
- Opened up attackers balcony to simplify paths
- Moved health and ammo in this area

This is the most recent version for testing, and please try it out :)

Time to work on my tactics document; any suggestions?

cp_foolshill would be a better name imo

But i really enjoy playing the map regardless of it’s name :D

Map looks great, havn’t really played it yet though.
Add an S in the end of fool (cp_fools_hill), would make it more logical/srs/bsns/whatever. :p

I did consider adding the s, but then it would sound too much like cp_foolsgold which is another map. It also keeps in more in-line with the Beatles song that inspired it :)
