I’m pretty sure this already has been fixed as I can’t use OpenPlugin anymore.
I have no problem whatsoever with using -insecure and Openplugin.

“Note:You will never be VAC banned for using built-in cheat commands.”In other words: using built in cheat commands is exploiting and Valve doesn’t consider it cheating. Real cheats are separate applications or applications that inject dlls into the game. Loading a dll via a command that Valve has made available is bending the rules – not breaking them. That’s my interpretation at least.
Also: because of Source engine’s bug you can see through walls if you set a really high fov. See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0fnXN2Feh4 This however requires changing the fov on the fly in game and OpenPlugin doesn’t allow that.
Question: Is there anyone who actually got VAC banned because he was using a plugin like that or is that just an urban myth?
I don’t think we even need an answer because Valve already blocked OpenPlugin. At least in its original form.
by that logic, it would be fair game to modify the plugin to allow, for example, drawothermodels and impulse 101.
just because it’s using the neat valve plugin feature doesnt automatically make it legit. You should not be able to join vac-secured servers with it loaded.
Also, you will not get banned using built-in cheat commands, when they are allowed (sv_cheats 1), OpenPlugin allows cheat-flagged cvars anyways.
that being said, if valve wanted to vacban users for it, it probably would have happened to a number of people already.
openplugin is still working fine
on css the -insecure command works on vac-secured servers if vac’s servers are not running, so sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t, but for me it has been running the past two weeks constantly on tf2

this method has nothing to do with sv_pure, it works outside of game forcing driver level graphic options
in short: you are doing it wrong

What is the method to svpure2

What is the method to svpure2
thats not a question
method a) use custom textures -doesnt work on sv_pure 2, best quality, vac safe
method b) use lod hack (what this thread is about) -worst quality, but vac safe
method c) open plugin – medium quality, allows also fov increase, but questionable vac safety. valve has said they dont like it and could lead to ban, nobody has been banned yet tho…

i try method c but don’t work for me =.
Edit: In console i seek launch…openplu.. but don’t work

Negative LOD bias is still available in the new option, which is called: Transparency Supersampling – Sparse Grid Supersampling. Set 8x looks like LOD bias +10 and works perfect with latest nVidia drivers.

does that affect gpu load? im using 306.97 (last working dx8 drivers) and i have no problem using nvidia inspector with xml script for -15 lod

I don’t see any difference, because it’s not a REAL anti aliasing.
Ive just tried the Nvidia inspector. It works OK but there are still some jaggedy lines – is there any way to get rid of them?

what are any other values i can try?
Maximum lodbias value for DirectX 8/9 is 9 (more then 9 are fake) so you can’t fix this issue.
