Everyone is complaining of the lack of new leagues AND not so much people plays in them.
I come with a solution:
User-made cups/leagues.
What is this ?
An user can create a league for his own. He can set the rules and other things.
Why this ? There are also already some leagues to play on.
Yes, but this will help them too using API. An API for Users, matches and actions.
So, lets say Wireplay will want to use ETF2L API. Teams will be able to join Wireplay using Team Admin. Also they will be able to add the matches and others.
I want to create a league for my community, and I don’t have the solution. I can do one on ETF2L, I would be able to mark it as hidden from others (maybe I will put a password for joining) and thats it.
What ETF2L wins ?
More trafic => More money from Ads.

So anyone could set up a league?
Sounds like a good idea, but easy to abuse. ie. some idiot makes a league/competition then his team get 6-0’d in the first round & he decides he cba to continue it.
ah yes, i forgot to mention, league must be aproved by etf2l admins before they are live
This would probably work rather well actually for smaller communities, things like this won’t work for other labelled leagues like ESL & Wireplay due to being in their own right and sponsor deals.
Like said earlier though and in other posts, it would actually be awesome. But you’ve got to see how realistic this would be to create, you need the skills and an epic amount of free time :d

Then if they won’t they will lose more and more people.

but your idea requires much cooperation/satisfaction from both leagues, can be achieved tho
Good idea in theory, but in practice what’s going to happen is 8000 leagues are going to be made and fuck all of them will be taken seriously. Someone creates a scandi-only league – what happens when someone doesn’t like the map choice so then makes ANOTHER scandi-only, and then another, and then another.
Can be very much fixed in practice too. Admins approving the league before going to get sign ups. Also I’m thinking of a field: “Reason you want to create this league” and would be shit to say “I don’t like the other one match rotation”.
Also let’s say I’m spence. I want my map tested. I create a cup and people will play it, I don’t need to beg admins to make one for me.
