Map Weeks

When a new map comes up for the next gameweek, I’m sure i’m not the only one who likes to see how the top teams play the map. This is so I can derive some, albeit simplified, tactics for my team and get a general idea how the map is supposed to be played. But due to, in general, the division 1 clans playing their fixtures late we’ve usually played our fixture before they have; meaning I don’t get that chance.
So I thought, as long as the fixed map rotation is being kept (which I hope it is), that in S8 and beyond that there could be a staggered system. Where the Div 1 (maybe Div 2 aswell) clans play maps that the rest of us play a week later. This would mean Div 2/3-6 play well-known maps in Week 1 (granlands?) and the Div 1 clans play our Week 2 maps in Week 1 and so on. Leaving Div 1 to play granlands on the last week, a good finale to the season. Possibly a 2 week stagger may work even better, although this would mean 2 weeks of well-known maps at the start of the season.
hm … this could bring more spectators too, but I don’t know really about this idea.
You can always watch a stv demo if you want to learn someone’s tactics so there’s no need in doing this imo.

How do you watch the STV demo if it hasen’t been made yet? :>

I never stated they should watch that particular stv demo. Maybe you are just too busy posting everywhere you don’t even read other posts anymore?

Not really, these maps tend to very rarely get played, and I can’t even think of anyone who records STV’s of PCW’s. Look at this for example, from dunc’s opinion on the digi vs idk? match from the Cadred week 5 round up:
I can’t see idk? touching them on Gravelpit, a map where they still rank amongst the very best in Europe, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see idk? take Obscure. You can nearly guarantee that Dignitas won’t have played more than 2 PCWs on it.
And from Agron on the comments:
“You can nearly guarantee that Dignitas won’t have played more than 2 PCWs on it.”
Never played it, doubt the rest have either.

I’m quite sure there will be div1 demos of those maps by then(We are all talking about next season right).
And for now, if they haven’t even played the map once, like you claim, I don’t see why anyone would use their tactics.
Division 1 players being clueless > greater than division 6 players who tried super hard.
I miss double badlands fixtures :_: WHERE DID MY GRANLANDS GO, sad smofoms ..

I disagree since we’re talking about tactics, not about dm skills. Why would a lower division player not be able to come up with some good tactics? Everyone with a bit of gamesense and some tactical ability can come up with something good. It’s not only about inventing tactics, it’s about executing them and this is where div1 players are a lot better (as a team).
If you mean a div6 player can’t come up with solid tactics just because he is div6, I have to say that’s a rather bold and ignorant statement.
Edit: The fact that div1 teams have more tactics is solely due to the fact they can execute more of them, because the team moves like 1 unit. A div6 team is nothing with an advanced tactic that looks good on paper but they can’t really execute in-game.
