Pseudo-random :P Computers can’t do random numbers. But as we first assign (pseudo)-random numbers with PHP, and then (pseudo)-randomly match the numbers in pairs with Ruby, it’s random enough for me.

also in response to the post think random is good gives everyone a chance to play anyone else, elsewhere in the tree.

Aye, My point was, the degree to which it isn’t random is not going to matter in something like drawing teams for a video game tournament. :P
