so i am a member of slovenian national team and in my clan there are 3 of us in slovenian national team. Now i was wondering if that limit (3 from same team in nat. team, top) still counts, becouse Team croatia has 5 members of guru gaming.

oh noes.

Why does it matter?

I think it does and I think its pretty stupid for countries with such a small player base. People also can just leave their clan for the duration of the NC and then join them again.

it stands for 3 out of 6 players that r playing in a match, we played with 3 from guru, 2 from D and me, other then that u can have as many from 1 clan as u want in ur nt

Because a national team should not be yet another 6v6 team not different from the league-event, obviously because it would make it boring and pretty much the same thing. In the past, this rule has NOT been given any special treatment towards smaller countries and rightfully so.

want in ur nt = want in your nut.

Check the rules for this kind of things.

We can hardly get someone to play cos there ain’t enough Croatian clans/players in TF2. I think ETF2L should be honoured to have us, sucky as we are, in Nations Cup.

I say you also have to use common sense. If there’s only a very small group of players from country X, and the only good players that are interested are all in the same team, why not allow them? They want to represent their country and their strongest team happens to consist mostly of people from team Y.

I find the rule that limits a national team to play no more than 3 members from the same clan hurts the nation’s cup. The whole point of the nation’s cup is to find which nation is the best at TF2 and this cannot be achieved with such a rule in place. So I propose that for the next nation’s cup that we remove the rule to see how it all plays out.

I don’t really care if this rule is used in the next nations cup or not but what needs to be changed is the size of the cup. ETF2L needs to hold a qualifier event before the actual nations cup to see which of the smaller nations are fit to participate. The nations cup itself should have maybe 16 teams and the top6 countries or something should receive a direct invitation to it.

This way all the nations cup matches would be meaningful and the cup would be a whole lot more interesting to follow. Nobody wants to play another group stage where half of the matches (or like in our case, all of them) are decided with default wins when the smaller teams decide that they cba playing their matches when it’s certain that they would lose in the first place. This would give the nations cup the kind of “premier” image and feeling which it deserves. It makes sense, right? Not everyone is given the chance to play in the Wolrd Cup either and you’ll have to go through strict qualifiers first. Make the same happen in TF2.
