The Force’A’Nature, Sandman, Direct Hit and Buff Banner are limited to 1 per team. All other unlocks are allowed. Teams are free to agree about limiting unlocks further, but such an agreement must be noted on the relevant match page.

This thread is for clarification about this rule which I don’t believe has fully been answered in the previous thread. D2M says that there can be a “Gentleman’s rule” between clans if they decide to agree on which weapons are limited and by how much. He states that in such a case admins aren’t going to get involved which is all very well since it is only an agreement between 2 clans. The thing which I don’t understand is why “such an agreement must be noted on the relevant match page.” if the admins aren’t going to do anything about this “agreement” anyway.

Some clarification would be nice. Either we have to write this rule on the match page and you admins will intervene if it is broken or we don’t have to write it on the match page and you won’t intervene. Just curious about which stance you take on this :)

The problem we have is that the details written last weekend occurred before all of the Vanilla discussion took place and after the update from Valve that was a little disappointing.

I made my opinions clear in the previous thread, but please bear in mind as I have said all along that everything is provisional at the moment as we are discussing changes, including an in-depth discussion with regards to weapons and some rules this weekend.

My opinion is that teams can make an agreement to use/ban an unlock between themselves and play as such. I do not feel we should have to support either team should problems arise from their wish to deviate from any rules that we have set out at the start of the season. In this case, I believe that they would not need to make those details clear on the match page. The main things to write about on the match page are: servers, mercs, wildcards, and general fixture arranging details.

I cannot comment on this in full until we’ve had a long discussion this weekend, but my feelings were made very clear in the previous thread and I’ve tried to summarise them above.

I would appreciate it if we could not open a lot of new threads about this until the Admin team have had a chance to discuss weapons and details over the weekend. If you have anything you desperately want to ask about, please come and find me in IRC.

As I wrote in the other thread:

“I would only remind you that if you’re not 100% sure that the other team will stick to the agreement, make sure to record the agreement on the match page so the admin team can help settle disputes.”

That’s the only reason to note it on the match page. If you’re sure the other team won’t use the unlocks, then feel free to not write it there since there won’t be any need to raise a dispute.
