no I am serious, its not even about what I think
we could test different limits in different divisions while you guys in division 1 just keep it simple for now: you are safe from the shitstorm and we just test all the combinations

This is the top and bottom of it. We did. The D1 scene, even just in terms of PCWs et al, hadn’t been as active in over a year as it was before the WAR! update. Then that came and meh a couple of teams stopped playing, more players became uninterested and while we were waiting for ETF2L to take a stance on the unlocks, the D1 PCWs became medlocks only. Once ETF2L took a stance, and decided TDH was acceptable, we decided we’d prefer to play without and carried on using said “Gentleman’s agreement”, for want of a better term.

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion.. just as we’re entitled to entirely disagree. All but 2 teams in D1 (including the playoff teams!) have agreed to the proposed state of unlocks, I think that says it all really.

We all agree on why polls were not made for the new unlocks: polls are retarded and forums are not a democracy.
The new official rule states that every new thing is available, but players can find an agreement on what is limited and what not so basically every single match could have different rules… How about keeping it simple and directly forcing different rules for every single match?

Incidentally, I agree with div1. Lets not forget the furore that surrounded the choosing of DL1. Basically all the exact same arguments were used except s/TDH/demomen, and let’s call a spade a spade: div1 were right.

The difference being that this rule came prior to polls that asked the WHOLE community, not only the very top end. I would have no problem with medic-unlocks-only at all if the whole community would be asked for their opinion which would then lead to the league giving out a rule regarding this, but self-made rules for certain parts of the league only is stupid.
