Regarding the div1 vanilla TF2 rule thingy

I’m not sure your points are strictly valid considering the current D1 crop is the most competitive it has been in maybe 4 or 5 seasons, arguably since TF2’s birth.
. Elitist? Mmm if you say so, personally I would just suggest that the fairly tight-knit D1 teams have decided they enjoy the game more without retard unlocks.
Like the rest of us want it to be. but where not div 1, so screw us right? let’s still have limit 1 TDH and FaN in lower divisions.
Every advocate of vanilla fails to give me good reasons why all but medic unlocks are banned.
Sure TDH is a joykiller; ban it, not my Haunter’s Sandvich :(
I also hear “It was more fun before all the post Medic updates” but I find it hard to take the percieved fun levels of TF2 for granted from a group of prodominantly Finnish players who regularly rage quit and return with new teams.
Balance your body chemistry, then balance TF2? :P

I was thinking of making a long, detailed response as to just why you’re WRONG but dunc actually summed up everything that needed to be said. I’ll just answer this one:
The top-end of the competetive scene is thin (albeit it’s getting better) because this game attracts shitters with the new weapons.

What you mean the new weapons that have come in AFTER the decline? It’s SINCE the decline that we’ve seen a gradual increase and return to strength that dunc touches upon!
I’ve said everything that needs to be said here. ETF2L promotes gentlemanly agreements – if teams agree, all is fair. That is all fine and dandy.
The only problem i have is with perry’s absolutely deplorable “We’ll get everyone to match ban you” comment.
For anyone who disagrees with perry, you and i have no quibble.

Nobody said it will be an absolute rule, from the start the idea has been that it will be a gentleman rule.
If you were to use a gentleman’s agreement, you could as well apply that before an official match, rather than opening a thread in the forums (not you in that case) to try and “force” it on all div1 teams more or less.

Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything. r@ts have already said they don’t want to ban the unlocks and I’m sure FB wouldn’t either. The gentlemen’s agreement, and the post, was to show which D1 teams would be adhering to playing without gaylocks. Maybe it would show the ETF2L team, in a relatively polite manner, that we don’t agree with the decisions made for S7.

He said that in a very poor manner, granted, but it’s partially true even without perry /msg dunc OMG DON’T PLAY RAWR THEY USE UNLOCKS, because I’ve already said I won’t play PCWs involving the new weapons as it’s hampering our relatively new team’s productivity in terms of teamwork and basic strats. I think the same applies for other D1 teams, I know blight and dig aren’t happy to play against gaylocks.
