Regarding the div1 vanilla TF2 rule thingy

This is fucking stupid. Can’t you guys just for one season stop trying to make extra rules for your very own top division just cause you’re supposedly better players?
Imagine a div2 team. This team is playing eg with a scout that uses the FAN and a solly that uses TDH. Now this team plays very successfully and manages to place first in div2, which means the will get promoted to div1 next season. Why exactly should this team have the obligation to change their tactics and play with 2x scatter and 2x rl? Because a bunch of elitist pricks cannot stand getting killed by weapons they label as “broken”, “bugged” or “cheap”? I’d say this would be rather unfair.
Just get over the fact that Valve is adding weapons to the game that are sometimes really, really good and stop making your own rules for your oh-so-awesome-top division, cause it’s making you look like idiots.
Just my .02$
Actually, i remove my +1 to this. Fix TDH and then meh. But targe/sword/sandman/FaN. Meh, bullshit.

I think you’re looking like a little fag right now. And heard that your team wants the same shit for d2? :D
10agrees
Save it for cups, not the general league
And stop flaming before you set yourselves on fire

Nobody said it will be an absolute rule, from the start the idea has been that it will be a gentleman rule.
If you were to win division 2 and make it to div1, you may feel free to use your piece of shit weapons. I’m sure you’ll then enjoy the match-ban all other div1 teams will place on you :]

If you want to play with unlocks there’s nothing stoping you. So stop QQing about something that won’t affect you.

In that case fair play. :D
That fucking rocket launcher is such bullshit. We were losing a PCW and the minute I switched to combat it we started pushing them back.
FIX –
60 damage at all ranges constant
no minicrits
fucking POS

Ah yes, the div1 teams. Our flagship for a successful game with good longevity.
“Gentman’s rule” – Because a gentleman demands that you play with HIS rules defined on HIS terms, or else he’ll get him and all his priveliged friends to scoff at you and not speak to you. Yes, very gentlemanly.
I really hope you’re being sarcastic perry, because you’ve just affirmed every person who has the opinion that div1 snobs (and believe me not everyone who is considered div1 is a snob) are desperately stamping on the feet of people climbing up the ladder in order to lengthen their stay at the top of the ladder.
Is THIS why we have such a thin top-end competitive scene? Because of people like this?
“Climb the ladder and break all the rungs that you pass, because the only way i’m coming down is by falling, and i’ll be damned if anyone else is climbing up.”

Brilliant philosophy. I’m sure this community will be booming in no time.

Any new team that comes up to div1 and wants to play with all the unlocks are more than welcome, for now im just happy that the top “elitists” have agreed to play with vanilla rules against eachother.
I’m not sure your points are strictly valid considering the current D1 crop is the most competitive it has been in maybe 4 or 5 seasons, arguably since TF2’s birth.
Gentleman’s agreements have existed since the middle ages where it was agreed that officers wouldn’t be shot at directly, etc. No difference here – the gentleberries have agreed to not use the gayest guns ever known to man. Elitist? Mmm if you say so, personally I would just suggest that the fairly tight-knit D1 teams have decided they enjoy the game more without retard unlocks.
I’m happy with that darn, it’s morons like dumb and dumber up there that boil my blood. “Play how i want to play or i’ll get everyone to bully you at school.” Gentleman’s agreement indeed.
Very poor analogy dunc. That assumes equal grounding. If england had guns, and france had bows and arrows, and we went to war and if france said “Gentleman’s agreement, you can’t use your guns on us!” You might be closer to what perry just said.
