With the introduction of the new combat text in the last patch, and the new soldier/demoman weapons I was experimenting with the best places/way to hit and decided to see how much damage I was actually doing. In the end I decided to do a comparison of weapons for each class for you guys.
First let me say that I experimented with hit boxes first off and no matter where on the model you hit you still do the same amount of damage. The ONLY thing that affects damage is distance to target. Ok here are the results.

please don’t post if somethings off by 1 damage. Im not sitting there for 100 shots on the off chance something eventually rounds damage up by 1. All max damage shots are point blank and repeated several times. Only problem was testing demoman as splash damage is very unpredictable so its an approximation. Should be used as a guide, not set in stone.
Afaik, The Eyelander + The Charging Targe = Instakill on a crit boost in the last second of you running with it ( charged run with a flashing light behind you ) so you can’t call it only 65 imo. Anyways – good job. You could make some self damage experiments on the “blasting” clases.

Flaregun is 30 (40 on burning) hp afaik
and what also maybe is missing, a rocket with the normal rl with only splash damage
I’m 99% sure I’ve seen 200+ from tdh in air.
I guess you are right
tg made the stats with etf2l config and not on a public server with random dmg
I saw it whilst playing turris with etf2l config after the update last night, I’m fairly sure.

It’s not easy testing the direct hit air values. To do it i stood right next to the target, shot them into the air then stood below them and point blank air shot them. That was the most damage I could do. Im sure I hit over 225 damage myself before the bug fix.
the buff banner is bugged imo
tested it with the rl:
151 hp at point blank, ok for full hit (112 without) but
122 hp at long range (48 without)
That’s because mini crits disable damage fall off.
And the maximum dmg I could get with TDH after the update was 188, was a bot flying toward me on tr_walkway. Most of the time it was 184 though.
I got 1 shot to death today on a pug1, scattergun. was walking as scout, some scout behing me gave me 1 shot. 125->0 .

Had you got the sandman equipped, as you can die from 1 scattergun shot
