New teams having to play-off against a team from the div they are planning to compete in would be a nice option (possible against a team that ended in the middle of the tables). Of course, the team that is already in the div shouldn’t be demoted if they lose.

Simply placing new teams in top div3 at best would be wrong. Should teddybears be placed there for the next season? Would that be fun for them? Would that be fun for the rest of the table?

All these things should be thought through before saying div2 gets this many slots and div3 this many. First get an overview how many teams will be able to compete at a certain level (teams already in the div, promoted teams, demoted teams, new teams) and then look at how the division system can accommodate all the teams.

I’ve been thinking about the same thing for ages. You should really first have on overview of teams capable of playing in a certain level, because otherwise you’ll have to put some teams in lower division than they deserve, which will end up in a boring season when you already know who’s propably going to win.
What’s the point in this league if you can’t play on your own level? It’s pointless and no fun if you get raped or roll teams like no tomorrow.
For example I don’t think it would hurt to make div2 bigger when there are a lot of teams that can play on that level. The promotion/demotion system gets messed up every season with teams dropping so making a division bigger shouldn’t be that big of a problem?

Every div should be like Div3D. D stand for ‘Dayum-that-div-makes-me-moist’
