Ok we are almost ready to start playing some ladder matches. We now have our own server setup with the ETF2L config file that is public facing on a 10mb pipe.
Next question we have registered for the ladder and been accepted. I can see we can challage other teams now. Can anyone tell us what the rules are for ladder play? I see we need to take some screenshots when we submit results. What do we take ss’s of? And whats the best way to take them?
Also I added us in division 6 does this mean we can only play division 6 teams?
You got to take screenshots of the status screen (type status in console, that will show all players and steamid’s) and a screen at the end of the map so you can see the score (2 for gravelpit, because there are 2 rounds). You can bind “jpeg” to a key, I’ve got it bound to f12 myself. I did that by putting this in my console or config: bind f12 “jpeg”. Every player also has to record a pov (point of view) demo by typing “record insertname” in the console.

You can challenge any team you like, but I would start with div6 teams to get a feel of the game.

Have a look at this results page http://etf2l.org/matches/15167/ those are the types of ss’s you need.
No you can challenge anyone you like – you might be better choosing those nearer the bottom to start with though.

Play some low- (minus) IRC scrims first, if you haven’t already.
For the ladder, since you are a new team you should work from the bottom up (imo). You might end up playing my team since we’re basically bottom!
Don’t get down when you get rolled – and you will get rolled a fair few times when you’re starting out. Just stick at it and soon you will get the hang of it.
Most importantly: have fun! Don’t break yer balls trying to play mid- scrims if they’re not a fun challenge.
If ye can’t enjoy losing then yer doing it wrong and should loosen up!

we arent on the ladder atm but feel free to add me on steam friends for a pcw or two sometime :)
