Hello. Myself and 5 work mates would really like to get into playing tf2 in a league.

Could someone please point me in the right direction to setup a clan and tell me where would be the best place to start (ladder games?). We all play tf2 every night but only against each other or on public servers.

Thanks a lot.

If you want a general guide (although I’m sure SirRemix can help you with specifics) then http://www.gotfrag.com/tf2/story/43759/ is a worthwhile read and this page http://www.gotfrag.com/tf2/story/44605/ has some really useful stuff with videos demonstrating mid runs and the like :)

Have fun and welcome to the community! :D

Good luck man, just don’t get too down hearted if you get majorly pwned to start with. 6V6 TF2 is a trickier business than you might imagine.

Some quick hints and tip:

Practice getting to middle AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. Over and over and over and over…. you get the idea.

I’d use irc and ask for some low minus pcw’s before embarking on a ladder match or three personally. Most teams in the ladder have experience of competitive play.

Keep at least one solly near medic at ALL times.

Have fun and don’t take it too seriously.

Also these are good:

Same ideas apply to granary, freight etc. These take practice but if you get to middle first you can trap your opponents in places with sticky/rocket spam……which is nice.

Thanks very much. We formed a clan and all joined it. Now we are going to try and get some practice games and see how bad we are lol.

Pick ups best place to start for new people, join a few games and learn the basics…then start implementing into your team play. Also you’ll notice if you’re a really good spy/engineer/pyro…it won’t helo you much.
