I still fail to see the difference between having hacked and gotten VAC’d in VAC1 and VAC’d in VAC2. If you ban people for having a VAC2 ban you should ban them for having a VAC1 ban as well.
Cheaters will always be cheaters, right?
But if someone has a source engine ban is it possible to find out which game the ban came from? Or is it based on their word alone?
how do we know it wasnt TFC (in case of a HL1 ban) ?!?!? MADNESS.
edit: i dunno if it had vac already, so…
I dont see why one should spare people who go “OH LOLZ LETS RAGE HACK A PUB SERVER, PWN SOME NUBS AND MAKE THEM CRY SHALL WE”
If you do such a thing then you simply deserve no respect, as you fuck up other people’s experience of the game. If someone from the 1.6 scene said “TF2 SUX, I GO RAGE HAX IT” and did this in a game, you’d be furious and demand a ban, but on the other hand you say “oh ye, css/1.6/cod is shite, you’re allowed to do so and come back.”
hipocrites.

Well, ok. I deleted a bunch of admins I thought was lazy fucks without any fruitful input, Day saw this as “out of order” and I left before it went any further than that. Ask him yourself.
Sorry for stealing the thread but I nominate this for Quote of the Year.

The policy of banning someone across all games with the source engine makes sense, because the hacks work across all the source based games, because it’s hacked the source engine.
So someone that has hacked on source, could not be trusted in theory because they have hacks on their PC that works with all the games that is ran on source, but someone that hacks in 1.6 or another game could potentially be trusted but closely watched.
I don’t see how someone who hacked on GoldSource is somehow potentially trustworthy when someone who hacked on Source is not trustworthy. You hacked. Period. What engine it’s on doesn’t make any difference, you just lost all credibility or at least a major part of it.
“You hacked on GoldSource? Come on in it’s not on Source. You hacked in CoD? Come on in it’s not on Source. You hacked on Source? Stay out we can’t trust you.”
^That’s what this rule is.

I’d just turned 15 when source was released, I’m 20 now. I’m fairly sure others will relate to me when I say I wouldn’t recognise that person now if he came up to me and slammed my dick in the doorway. Retarded rule.
All 3 players in my post have VAC bans
No they don’t, unless I’m missing something neither Payard or Heliana have VAC bans listed on their accounts.
The ban length was increased from one year to two years in between this season and last, so people who have been banned recently are receiving longer ban lengths than those banned in the past.
If your account was stolen and received a VAC2 ban whilst you were unable access it, please contact Valve, I’m sure they would be able to remove it for you in the process of recovering the account.
We cannot tell what game the VAC2 ban was given for, but it applies to all Half Life 2 engine games.
Heh, well it’s true :)
It’s ironic
It’s ironic
Ironic would be you after 18 months of lameness doing something fruitful with those videocasts. Joske being useless was not very surprising however :D GOOD JOB, NVC! ;)
Im listning to “The Spell” by Alphabeat, does that make me gay?
of course not, it makes you absolutely fabulous darling

“We at ETF2L are elitist. We just can’t stand BAD guys! So yeah, we are banning bad cheaters: if you want to cheat, do it GOOD, it’s ok for us!! You will be able to play as long as you are not caught by Valve”
Thanks SnowiE

Wrong, you will never ever get your VAC ban deleted EVER! There is just no way that they would do that and it would be rather stupid to do it right? Take f.e. i cheat -> get VAC banned (then if you do would get it back) -> Send mail to Valve that you’ve been hacked and that the person cheated on your account -> HURRAY! no ban.
Joske is still a rage quitting fag. I don’t know why everyone else is fighting his battles for him.

For me it’s not fighting for him, it’s fighting against a ridiculous rule.

I don’t understand your point. Payard and Heliana were caught cheating. They were banned for a year. After this time has expired they will be allowed to play in ETF2L. The people with VAC bans have been banned for 2 years (because ban length has increased between the two events). After 2 years they will be allowed to play in ETF2L.
