New players aren’t affected, they can’t play VAC servers, they buy new acc, new acc joins etf2l.
Really don’t see the problem here.
The rule is bullshit though. Nobody I know is affected by it, but what the hell…
You’re actually going to ban people for using a VAC detectable hack (per definition they’re bad and EASILY detected by spectating, therefore, they aren’t a threat to the league as they’d be too obvious) on a different game on public servers? Nice.
Btw, gotta ban all people who got caught by punkbuster etc in other games as well.
You’d better get to work ;)
Clearly that’s not my decision to make, and thus it would be unfair of me to comment from the point of view of the league. As things stand the rules are on the front page, and clarification on these can be obtained from the League’s Head Admin team.
I stated a personal opinion, which I am perfectly entitled to do. My opinion, as I clearly noted has nothing to do with ETF2L’s stance – and therefore I am only stating my own feelings.
Perhaps instead of talking to our Admin team like we’re a group of idiots and accusing us of dodging questions, you could appreciate the fact that many of us do care about the situation and that I personally have a very similar viewpoint to yours.
I’m not here to question dodge or to split opinions about what people think the best course of action is. I commented because you brought up a topic that I feel quite strongly about and I hope that we can get it resolved. What I do object to though is the continual way that people make derogatory comments towards the whole Admin team. We volunteer our time for the league, whilst it is appreciated that everyone has their own opinion on each decision that is made, sometimes it helps to take a few moments to appreciate that everyone is human and we all want to play a game that we enjoy.
If you feel you can do a better job than the current Admin team, I’m sure your application would be welcome :)
Kinda hard to not think of the admin team as a group of idiots when so far their only response has been either been mocking the issue with this
wall of text
cheers

(that literally was all he posted) or some half-assed attempt at putting this forward as a good rule (Anakin) without any actual valid argument.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been an admin in another community and I know how hard your job is. I’m certainly not denying how much work goes into it. But there’s no denying this highly selective rule is put in place with the only justification being “because we say so”. Whether you hacked in CS 1.6 and got VAC1’d or in CS:S and got VAC2’d shouldn’t matter, you hacked therefore you get banned. Period. Not “you can play in VAC2 servers therefore you are ok.”.
